Hope and Resilience During COVID-19
COVID-19 has been front and center in our minds and our communities for months now. As we continue to learn how to live in this new reality of ours, we would like to bring attention to examples of strength that highlight the importance of staying connected and practicing compassion.
As individuals are finding new ways to connect with friends, family, and neighbours, organizations are also showing a great deal of resilience in how they adapt to new ways of working. With increased demands on many of our partner organizations during the pandemic, we have been extremely impressed and grateful for their unwavering commitment to continue the work of Living Hope through these times. Our partners see the importance of moving this work forward so we can deliver on the commitment we made to Edmontonians to the best of our ability. This challenge is being met by Living Hope in a similar way each of us stays healthy every day, by leveraging technology to stay virtually connected to one another during this time of isolation, by using these opportunities to check in and offer support, and through the sharing and accessing of available resources.
In the spirit of remaining connected, we would like to share a blog post from the Centre for Suicide Prevention (CSP) about suicide prevention in a time of crisis: https://www.suicideinfo.ca/hope-belonging-meaning-purpose/
We look forward to a time when we can all gather together again, but until that time we would like you to know that we are still here for you and will continue to work with you to make a difference in preventing suicide in Edmonton.
