Togetherall, an anonymous, professionally moderated, mental health support community is now available to all Albertans aged 16+.

In October, the world celebrated World Mental Health Day, this year, around an ever more topical theme: mental health for all. In a year where everyone across the globe has been directly or indirectly impacted by disruptions, uncertainties and isolation, we should all be collectively thinking about new ways to look after our mental health. After all, we are all in this together.

In an effort to enhance virtual mental health supports for Albertans, Alberta Health Services and Togetherall has announced a partnership. Togetherall’s safe, anonymous online community has been made available for free to all Albertans aged 16+ and it comes at a time when there is an ever urgent need to provide alternative and wider solutions to protect people’s mental health at scale.

Togetherall, which is available to more than 50 million eligible individuals worldwide, is an online peer-to-peer community that allows people to express themselves and connect with others that have shared experiences. Members can communicate their feelings through written or visual expression, and can interact with the whole community or in smaller groups- which ever they prefer.

The platform is moderated by registered mental health professionals 24/7 to ensure all members are safe at all times. The service also offers a variety of clinically approved self-guided resources, including assessments, courses, self-help journaling and goal-setting tools designed for Alberta residents.

Togetherall is unique in that it combines the power of peer-to-peer support alongside clinical expertise in order to create a vibrant and supportive community that helps members feel safe and less isolated.

In a time where we can’t be physically together, we can find a protective and therapeutic effect in mental connections with others and support other people on their journeys to recovery.
